Nature itself is the primary Bible. As Paul says in Romans 1:20, “What can be known about God is perfectly plain, for God has made it plain. Ever since God created the world, God’s everlasting power and deity is there for the mind to see in all the things that God has created.”–Richard Rohr
We have been encouraged this summer to take the time to look for evidence of God’s creativity in the world around us. These “God Sightings” can be a teachable moment of wonder and awe as well as a time to give thanks to the creator right where you are, establishing a habit of “thank you God” at any time or place. A grateful heart is a heart open to the Spirit.
The gardeners in our midst, the community members who each week water and weed, till and tend, have a special opportunity to see God in his creation. We are grateful for their time and attention to our little piece of creation.
If you would like to join this team of community members who care for our gardens, please contact Wendy Davis at email@example.com.
